Abstract

Indonesia's growing population and consumerist tendencies have led to a significant increase in waste generation. This study proposes a framework for the respiritualization and reconfiguration of human-material practices. Utilizing a qualitative research approach and an expansionist-essentialist methodology, the respiritualization component draws upon Paul Santmire's concept of partnership, emphasizing God's invitation to all creation to engage in a partnership characterized by awe, care, and creative involvement with the natural world. Beyond respiritualization, the study introduces the concept of reconfiguration of practices. This element is constructed from Christiane L. Hearlson's notions of "material anamnesis" and "redemptive vision," alongside Henriette T. H. Lebang's concept of "simplicity". These three concepts are unified in the practices of remembering, caring, and seeing.
